SWEET8: California X - “Sucker” / “Mummy” Double A-Side Single

We’re really excited to unveil the début single from Amherst, MA three piece California X, the two tracks that make up this Double A-Side 7” are the monstrous rollicking 6minute 43 second ”Sucker” and it’s melodic cousin “Mummy”.

We often get asked what we “look for” when we choose to work with bands but in reality it’s not so much looking as it is feeling. The second we heard California X’s demos we were overcome by this feeling that we had discovered something special and long-standing, we hope you experience similar inclinations.

We also did things a little differently with this release, for the first time we sent a band into a studio to work on some recordings, choosing to put California X in the studio with one-man power-house Justin Pizzoferrato (who’s previous credits include Sonic Youth and Dinosaur JR.), a perfect fit. 

We think this release heralds the arrival of a special new guitar band.We’re excited to hear what this young group from Amherst, Mass does next and we think you will be too.
